I'm sure if you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you recognize and remember the Miller Family. Not only are they good friends of mine, but they are also regular clients, and I get the honor of documenting their family as their sweet little girl grows up!
I knew that after my
last session with them at Blueberry Park, the bar had been set pretty high, so we needed to choose a great location and really knock it out of the park (which we did). The beach you'll see is near Twin Harbors State Park, on the Washington coast. It was predictably gray and cool, but you wouldn't know it from the way Anastasia was frolicking around in the surf! Towards the end of our shoot, we stripped her down and sat her in the surf (with Mom just off camera), assuming she would hate it and need immediate rescuing. But to our great surprise and amusement, she LOVED it. She sat in that cold water, then ran around in it, and then continued her naked romp on the beach for quite some time until clothes were forced back on her. Needless to say, I took several (tasteful) shots of this entire escapade.

Some little detail shots captured the "settling in" period, where Anastasia was getting used to the beach, and doing some exploring. |

I don't often do intentionally out-of-focus photos, but occasionally, it just feels right. |
What a brave little girl. You wouldn't see me doing this! |
Mommy snuggles. |
I love that intense focus children have when they're working on a project of their own design. |
Sandy toes! Perfect. |
Isn't it always this way? The doting parents. The indifferent child (who just wants to get down and go play!). |
What a beautiful smile. :) |
Baby curls! |
Sandy butt and running to Mommy. Such a cute combo! |
Daddy was soaking this up! |
(Sigh) In the blink of an eye, she'll be off to college... |
My favorite photo from the entire shoot. What a glamorous girl! |
Well, can you see we had a great time? I just love this family, and I always love our photo sessions. ;)
