Hello friends! Very soon I will start posting photos of people other than my own children, but for now, I am thoroughly enjoying my photographic "maternity leave." In that vein, I'll admit that I was a little nervous about how it would go when I first decided to photograph all three (!) of my children for their first all-together photo shoot. But as far as first official sibling portraits go, I am pretty pleased with this session (especially considering that my own children are always harder to photograph than other people's children!).
The whole thing was actually somewhat spontaneous. I knew I needed to use up a Living Social canvas voucher that was coming due, and I wanted to use a nice photo of all 3 of the kids. So after dinner one night, I (with the help of my wonderful husband) packed up some props and walked our little ones across the street to Grandma's house. She has an amazing backyard and I have been wanting to use it for a photo shoot for a little while now. As you can see below, the lighting was perfect and we caught that golden sunset light that all photographers treasure. The children were even sweet and loving to each other (mostly), so I really could not have asked for a better photo shoot with them. Scroll down to take a look at some of my favorites from this session. I can hardly wait to see what kinds of photos the years ahead will produce!

I don't think this one was prompted at all. Thankfully, both older siblings love their new little sister, and dote on her quite liberally. |

This is the one we chose for our living room wall. :) |

I love the tiny little shadow of big sister's lips kissing her forehead... |

I know I am biased, but these girls are beauties! |

An outtake, but definitely worth editing. It still makes me laugh when I look at my older daughter's face here. |

This was the serious contender for the canvas. I know I will use it somewhere else in the house, though! |

It looks like she's been deposited in a jungle or something, just a baby in a woven basket... |
Now, those are what I call some adorable children! ;) Well, thank you for looking, everyone, and stay tuned for more sessions posted this fall!
