This month I had the distinct pleasure of photographing Mair, a darling little girl you may remember from previous posts. But this time I also met and photographed her charming little brother, Celum. These two crossed an entire ocean to stand in front of my lens and play adorably on the rocky shore of Titlow Beach. Perhaps their main reason for coming to the United States was to visit family, but I'd like to think that having their portraits taken was a big part of it... ;)
The last time I did a shoot at Titlow Beach it was pouring rain, so mild and cloudy was a real improvement. The weather was actually quite nice (clouds make the best light diffusers) and the beach was serenely beautiful, which was an obvious benefit. Mair was willing to do most of the silly things I asked her to do ("Toss that big rock into the water," "Jump from the little island back onto the shore," "Give your brother a kiss on the cheek," and so on). Celum wasn't taking much direction, but thankfully for me, everything he did was photogenic- even his little dashes for the water and attempts to eat the rocks. As I expected, it was a great shoot, and the photos capture the sweetness, curiosity, and charm of these sweet siblings in this tender season of their lives.
We had such a lovely time, can't you tell? I'm already looking forward to the next time these cuties visit the states and I can have a photographic excuse to watch them have fun while I chat with their Mama! :)
Happy Monday, Everyone!
