Last year I had the distinct honor of photographing the Morfords, a lovely young family, before the husband was deployed with the military. It was a challenging time of year to make work with blistering cold weather and a baby to keep comfortable and happy. So we had one false start before we actually did the shoot on a beautiful winter day in Wheatland.
We decided on Pocket Park, which is tiny, but suited our needs just fine. Not much is really needed for a successful photo shoot. People who obviously love each other? Check. Light? Check. Camera? Check. And the cherry on top: an adorable baby in a cuddly blanket. Check!
We were done in about half an hour and back in our warm vehicles, but the memories are "frozen" in time! Here are just a few of my favorite shots from their session. Enjoy! ;)
Thanks for looking! Let these photos inspire you to take the "risk" and book a shoot in the winter. We can always work around storms, but this time of year can have its own unexpected perks (like a cute, empty downtown park in the middle of the day)!
Until next time,
~ Kathryn
