Last fall I had the distinct privilege to do a photo shoot for some friends of ours from church and their adorable little boys. We loaded everything up in their vehicle and drove around to a few different photogenic locations around Platte County- with photo props and enthusiasm in tow.
Our first stop was at a defunct (but not abandoned) mill in town. Apparently, this is a hot spot for delinquents to haunt. Thankfully, I didn't have to worry about getting anyone's permission to be there because I was on assignment with the owners! (Handy, right?)
Even though I usually do shoots in natural areas, there's nothing like an old building to really get the creative juices flowing- exposed brick, crumbling walls, rusty machinery, grass poking through broken concrete... It's really a cool look, and one I don't often get to capture.
After the mill, we drove out to the foothills of the northern Rockies and stopped along the way where it suited us- a winding creek, the side of a road, a grove of cottonwoods. The time of day was perfect and the boys were impish and charming. It was a recipe for success! In short- I had a great time with the Hilty family, and I hope you enjoy this glimpse into our photo shoot!
For those paying attention, this photo shoot was from last year, but I am only now creating this post, because I dropped the ball and forgot! (Sorry about that, Hiltys!) Thankfully, they're just as cute this year as last year, so not too much harm done! ;)
