Photos with Friends: Volcanic Edition

Before leaving the lush and beautiful Pacific Northwest, I made sure to photograph some lovely friends of ours in a stunning location that really typifies the extremes of Western Washington.  We knew we needed to squeeze in a photo shoot before my family and I moved, but this outing itself was a bit of a last-minute adventure.  After church, we piled into our respective minivans and drove a couple hours to one of my personal favorite places- Mount Rainier National Park.

Though I have visited the park many times, I had never before done a photo shoot there.  It definitely did not disappoint.  There are really SO many options for settings at Rainier, but we chose the Grove of the Patriarchs, near the Ohanapecosh entrance of the park.  For those unfamiliar, I highly recommend it.  Easy for kids, huge old-growth trees, and a beautiful river for skipping stones.  Not only did we have beautiful scenery for their photos, but we had a whole lot of fun in between while our kids all played together.

Without any further ado, check out some highlights from our mini shoot, and see if you don't agree that volcanic national parks make for gorgeous photo shoots.  (It doesn't hurt that our friends have an adorable family, too!)

Beautiful family + Beautiful backdrop = Happy photographer!
Thanks for looking, you guys!  See you next time,

~ Kathryn
